New to

Jones Chapel

One of the core themes in the gospel and Jesus' life is the theme of hospitality. From Abraham’s display of hospitality to the amazing hospitality of Jesus breaking bread with his disciples, and eating with the worst of sinners. There is something undeniably powerful about gathering around a table.

At Jones Chapel Church of Christ we seek to embody the life and teaching of Jesus, and hospitality is no exception! It is for this reason that Andrew and Alivia invite you to share a meal with them as well.

If you are new to Jones Chapel or ready to start the next steps toward membership, we would love to meet with you and teach you more about the heart of the church.

First Time VIsitor

Welcome to Jones Chapel Church of Christ! Whether you are getting ready for your first visit, or you have visited more than once, we are glad you are here.

We invite you to join us during our morning worship with Bible Study at 10:00 am and Worship at 11:00 am.

If you do not have a household of faith where you regularly worship and serve, we would love to for you to join us for one of our Sunday worship gatherings!

At Jones Chapel we know that visiting a new church can be a nerve-racking experience, especially if you are a new Christian or interested in learning more about the faith. Below is some information about our church family that we hope helps you when considering to worship with us. If you have questions, please feel free to reach out!

What to expect

ATTIRE

We understand that part of being comfortable often means knowing what others are wearing. In our church family, you will see a range of attire from dresses and collared shirts, as well as more casual dress like jeans and polo shirt. We would rather you focus on preparing your heart for worship instead of focusing on your attire.

Service

Our services typically last an hour and ten minutes. We usually begin by prayer, sing songs of worship, celebrate communion, hear the Word of God preached, and then close with songs and prayer.

WORSHIP IN SONG

One of the unique aspects of our worship is that we sing without instruments aiding us. This may at first be unfamiliar for some, but we hope you will appreciate each believer participating in raising their voices to the Lord together. The earliest believers also shared this practice, and we think it is wise to retain it.

NEXT STEPS

Interested in next steps? Whether toward membership or simply more information about Jones Chapel, we encourage everyone to start with a New to Jones Chapel Dinner with the Shaws. You can find out more here.
